I'm also just getting started.  I found the servlet.jar at:

%TOMCAT_HOME%\common\lib

Couldn't find the webserver.jar.  In fact, I don't think I've evr heard
of that one.

Which book are you using?  I've got Jason Hunter's Java Servlet
Programming, O'Reilly.
