Hello, I have a few questions about servlet's registered name. What is meant by Servlet's Registered Name? Bhushan> The name with which you want to associate the servlet class in server deploy descriptor. Is it means a servlet can have more than one Name..? Bhushan> I guess yes a servlet can have more than one name. Just check it by doing it, but I wonder what you want by doing this? Is is it different for different web server? Bhushan> As such all the descriptors are almost same just little bit of differences are there. How to set it in a Web server like VisualAge? Bhushan> I guess it there should be some descriptor for that. But visualAge is an IDE which comes with inbuilt IBM WebSphere App server. Is is possible to set/get Servlet Registered Name via any servlets.? Can somebody help me? Bhushan> you can use getServletName() in your servlet which will return the name of servlet if assigned otherwise will return the class name.
