I have a query about SSL.. please help me with this.
We use iPlanet4.1 as the web server. And so far i hv been adept at installing the verisign Trial SSL certificates.
We have 3 secure instances in the web server and i hv installed 3 Trial SSL certificates for each of these instances.
Now i had read somewhere that the SSL certificate is mapped to the domain name. Can somebody confirm this?
Also do i have to install 3 SSL certificates for each of the secure instances??
For the trial certificate, i got a long string by e-mail which i pasted in my "Install certificate" frame of iPlanet. How wd i obtain
the non-trial certificate? Obviously our clients would be requesting for the certificate after paying for it and then,
how would this be delivered to me so that i can install it.
Another thing, are these certificates re-usable? The reason i ask is this, we are shifting machines where iplanet had been
installed, so can i just copy the files under the alias folder (key pair files *.db) under iplanet to the same path on the target machine and hope
the certificates to work fine??
