I just read a very good answer from Vikramjit Singh om how to configure Tomcat so that that it asks the user for a username and password as a means of identification.
Who, then I ask, is it possible to use certificates and SSL to authenticate? I want to allow only the users that have a given certificat to access my website. I have found many descriptions on the web how to use SSL to get the communication encrypted using any certificate. But how do I disallow all but only a few certificates to access my web site?
