Matt

Depending on what you are using it for. e.g learning, Oracle JDeveloper 9i
is free ($995 for license) and comes with some excellent tutorial
information, struts, JUnit, JSTL, ANT XML, XSLT, HTML. I just set it up on a
RedHat8 Linux PC. It is very fast compared to other IDE's I've used,
expecially Forte. You can put whatever JDK you want with it. I'm using it
with MySQL and Tomcat with no problem. It does take some work to get it set
up right...typical for an Oracle product, complicated and expensive, but
powerful.

T.K.

Subject: JBuilder 6 book recommendations?

I use JBuilder for most of my Java tasks but I haven’t picked up a new copy
since 3.5 (mainly due to finances and the dizzying speed that new versions
have
arrived.) I’m now starting to do a lot more Servlet work than any other and
have a chance to get a great price on JBuilder 6 Enterprise. I know 8 is
already released but Enterprise is a tad too expensive for my current work.

Can anyone recommend a good book for Jbuilder 6 Enterprise that has a good
emphasis on the Servlet and J2EE tools? The online documentation with 3.5
didn’t really delve into a lot of the tools and I ended up learning most of
the
features on my own. Are the 6.0 docs better or would I be more inclined to
pick up a 3rd party book? I love O’Reilly books have a few great Osborne
Complete Reference books but they don’t publish a JBuilder text.

Thanks!
