what kind of research? what kind of bugs do you
want the application to have? what do you mean by undeterministic bugs? since
you don't belong to the application domain how would you ever be able to figure
out and resolve such bugs?
on the other hand, why not take the petStore or
adventure application from Sun and delete/comment stuff from it randomly - since
you don't know the code as it is, you wouldn't know what bugs are there. you can
then test the application, generate the "trace of client requests" and then use
it for research.
who do you think would ever give you the source
code of their project/product? along with the list of bugs? this
smells..
