I've done it several times, by simply reading the help docs included with
the download.

I'm sure lots of people have done this.  Try the tomcat-user list, that's a
much better resource for this.  You should probably check the archives
first.  Check http://jakarta.apache.org/ and look for info/links for their
mailing lists.
