Hmmm...the French didn't give the American insurgents help until 1780 (did you see "The Patriot?"), it was a token battle group, and then only because the French could spare the ships after a cease fire with the British. The French thought that (a) this would be a good thorn in the side of the British, and (b) could secure the commercial advantages Ben Franklin was promising in Paris, both at minimal cost.

I have studied French history at length and your arrogance is without basis. When is the last (or first?) time the French liberated anybody?
