Hmmm...the French didn't give the American insurgents help until 1780 (did
you see "The Patriot?"), it was a token battle group, and then only because
the French could spare the ships after a cease fire with the British. The
French thought that (a) this would be a good thorn in the side of the
British, and (b) could secure the commercial advantages Ben Franklin was
promising in Paris, both at minimal cost.

Gratitude? Can you say "Diem Biem Phu?" Talk about heroes? Any American
GI or French Underground in WWII vs. DeGaul hiding in London? Chirac's
latest speel against the Eastern Europeans? Puhleeze. I have studied French
history at length and your arrogance is without basis. When is the last (or
first?) time the French liberated anybody? You must be kidding by bringing
up the Caribbean and Latin America! The French were absolute butchers! The
only reason you sold us Louisiana is so you would have enough gold to pursue
domination of all of Europe. Hmmm...didn't your present partner try that in
the middle of the 20th Century, too?

Mark

Like during your war of independence. Lafayette mean anything to you? Who
were your only allies - les Francais. Call WWII a long overdue payback. You
would still be British if it were not for the help of the French back in
1776.

And helping the UNGRATEFUL!!!?? like Vietnam, Cambodia, Chile (1927),
Nicaragua, Cuba, Grenada, Iran (pre Revolution), Apartheid South Africa,
East Timor
