SET 1.0: A solution that requires the users to deploy local SW and digital certificates
Did never achieve a major market. Partial solution called MIA that does a
merchant-initiated subset has AFAIK been rather successful

3D-SET: Server-wallet SET. Will according to some be replaced by 3D Secure.

3D-SSL: Old name of 3D Secure

3D Secure: A solution that does neither require client-certificates nor local SW, but
an account at a service-provider that does the actual payment transaction. The SP
is usually the customer's bank.
