I found the following link very interesting:

What it showed was a proposed payment structure for mobile devices.
Two lines struck me as extremely interesting:
1. Payments must be *operator-independent*
This is what I have been "preaching" for years and made some people at
Ericsson really upset as they *live* on [phone]operators.
2. The long list of participating hand-set makers will *not* support
card-readers for credit-cards etc.
This essentially spells the doom for EMV-cards which in turn is
likely to kill the rest of the regular smart card industry.
