Windows 2000 does not seem to have msconfig.
Windows 2000 does not have anything labelled fast find so you can't kill it.
Here is how you fix the problem.
Run Windows explorer.
Click the + on My Computer
Click the + on Local Disk C:
Click the + on Documents and Settings
Click the + on All Users
Click the + on Start Menu
Click the + on Programs
Click on Startup
Click on the Microsoft Office icon on the right hand screen
Press delete
Reboot
It's been running fine since.
