I also have doubled my times per work unit on both an old K6 300 on W95 and
a PIII 550 on W98SE since upgrading to v3.03
As has been said "we" are now doing more work, hence the slowdown, which is
deliberate for reasons of reducing bandwidth use. This certainly seems to
have already had the desired effect since connection and download times are
much improved IME.
SETISpy can be found at http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy/ and is a very
useful tool IMO. Not only does it monitor the progress of the current unit
and your CPU's performance, but also automatically grabs your current
personal stats and provides a direct link to your team stats, using the cgi
tool to get these both bang up-to-date. Other features include showing a
summary of results in current unit, full details of the unit and a simple
star map showing the source location. There are some other tweaking tools as
well.
