For reference, this is caused by a weird MIME entry in the registry. The
extension key for application/x-aim is empty; that causes
MimetypesRegistry to blow up. You can get around it by deleting that
key. The MIME type is for AIM (AOL Instant Messenger).
The best way to fix it is to follow the directions listed in the other
e-mails in this thread; I just thought I should point out what's causing
it in case some other extension key causes a problem.
