I have tried the Windows version at Plone.org and the various versions at http://www.enfoldsystems.com/downloads.html. I have no AIM, and I've uninstalled the Plone/Zope/Python stack each time. No go. My ploneinstall log is at paste.plone.org, username dthomas, if that can help someone figure this out.
