I've got compat packages for everything, so you can still use yum.

I've got the core stuff needed but there will be things you'll need to
manually download if you use them. Stuff like DB connectors, and other
things. I'll most likely package up setuptools also, so installing extra
2.4 stuff would be easier and I don't have to maintain the packages ;-)

The accepted practice outside of rpm is to maintain everything in /opt.
You can also use the unified installer. Let me know if you you'd like
the compat packages. There are only a few minor changes I've yet to
complete to add them to a public repo. I would love more testers.
