Yes. This is a known issue with the quickinstaller. It should be harmless (if a bit ugly).

It has no check box at /portal_quickinstaller/manage_installProductsForm so
I can not uninstall it and
/portal_quickinstaller/Products.RichDocument/manage_installationInfo shows
None for all attributes apart for:
 Status:        installed
Contains Manual Uninstall:      false


How do I remove this and get back to square one and then install
RichDocument?

You should be able to just install it using the one that *does* have a tickbox next to it.
