Hi. Since no one answered yet, I'll describe the steps i take when i need to upgrade a minor version of Plone (for example, the upgrade from Plone3.0.3 to Plone 3.0.4, etc...)
I must warn you that I've followed a trial and error methodology so some steps might not be the more correct way of doing things. If you're not sure about a step ask before doing anything. I also would like people commented so we could add this methodology to plone.org howto's. Don't try this in a production server. Try this steps in a test server instead. Steps: 1) I usually download a new Plone version of the unified installer (if i have Plone 3.0.3 installed with unified installer I donwload plone 3.0.4 unified installer). But it might be possible to replace only the Products dir by the new one although I'm not sure. Then, install plone 3.0.4 using unified installer. 2) Copy the products you've installed in plone 3.0.3 on plone 3.0.4 Products dir and check the ownership of those products. 3) Pack database of plone 3.0.3 ( plone_control_panel > Maintenance > pack). 4) shutdowncluster plone-3.0.3 5) Copy Data.fs from plone 3.0.3 to plone-3.0.4 6) If you have edited zope.conf in plone 3.0.3, check the zope.conf of plone 3.0.4. 7) startcluster plone 3.0.4 8) Go to ZMI: portal_migration > update 9) If you have a ZEO installation, check client1 and client2 logs to make sure everything went well. If everything went well, you can now think in trying this on a production server but you're at your own risk.
