Thanks for the reply.
I had seen that already and tried all that, but it still didn't work.
In fact, if I take a copy of our live site, delete portal_diff entirely
from the ZMI, and copy in portal_diff from a fresh Plone site with the
same 3rd-party products installed, it STILL doesn't work. You'd think
that would fix it, but alas no .....
