Hi ploners,

I just had a problem trying to install Plone-3.3.5 and a few products, in
particular, LinguaPlone which comes in version 4.0b1 (this is already
described in http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/11203).

I am using the unifiedinstaller which is a great tool.

I am just wondering about the good pratices when installing (and also
upgrading) third party products.

buildout always get the latest version of a product added to the
configuration file ?

For each third party product, I must search for "Plone version
compatibility" and pin the version before executing buildout ?

Will buildout evolve so that third party products obtained will be
compatible with the Plone version installed ? or is it too complex to expect
such behaviour ?

nb : I tryied to put Products.LinguaPlone < 4.0 in versions.cfg but it did
not work, I was forced to pin the right version (3.1)

Regards
