The following bugzilla has already been created to track this: https://bugs.opendaylight.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7932 As mentioned in the Bugzilla, the API change adds necessary fields for the MAC chaining solution. The API change doesnt modify any existing fields, rather it adds fields, as such no migration path is needed and no existing configurations will need to be modified as a result of this API change.
