Thanks for volunteering. The first step is to go to https://writingmonth.org/ and sign up for Writing Month. You can choose your goal for the month. For instance, write 1 blog post in November. There's a section which says you can choose a buddy. Haven't tried it out, but I signed in as lmemsm. So, please let me know if you can add me as a buddy in that field or let me know your username at sign up and I'll see if I can add you. I believe the Digital Freedom Foundation is also accepting guest blog posts on DFD, SFD and HFD related topics.
