I believe the included icon is (still?) a SVG file, which works under
KDE, but may not be supported under GNOME, or vis versa. Converting the
supplied icon to PNG (which you can do via the GIMP, or ImageMagick's
"convert" command) and using that should solve the problem.

In which case the application may still appear in menus, but without an
icon, just the text description  (SFLphone).
