Hello. I'd like for my netbook to be used primarily as a phone while still have Linux applications, such as OpenOffice. Specifically, I'd like to have an option to dock the softphone either to the left or the right of the desktop and make it function as a GNOME panel. That is, when acted as a GNOME panel (or KDE panel, for that matter), no other applications can fly under the softphone when maximized.
For a change of subject, I know I should start a new thread about the bug but has anyone filed a bug pertaining to SFLPhone ignoring the saving of modifier keys (like shift, control key, super key (Windows key), and Alt key)? What I mean is when you open the Preference dialog, go into the shortcuts tab, and assign Super+Alt+Space to pick up/hang up toggle, by the time you close it and open it back up, it shows the accelerator as "Space" and not "Super+Alt+Space." Anyway, back on subject. The reason why I ask this is so I don't have to have a business phone, such as a Cisco SPA 502G or a Cisco SPA 525G, which I'd love to have but that high end phone is like paying for the price of a netbook. In other words, I'd like to have a softphone directly accessible right where I need it, even if I maximize an application, such as OpenOffice.
