Hi Manu,

Thanks a lot for replying. Based on your advice, we plan to go forward with
porting the KDE client to Qt-embedded.

What would be the effort involved in porting the KDE client to Qt-embedded,
would it be like looking into each KDE API & translating it into a / or group
of Qt-embedded API's? Would there be any other complexity involved?

I was just searching for relevant posts & found:

http://lists.savoirfairelinux.net/pipermail/sflphone/2010-May/000335.html

Does it mean that a qt-client still exists?
It also says that the KDE client is too buggy, is it still true?

John

Hi John,

0.6.2 is a really old version, I recommend you to start with the latest stable
version (0.9.13). It comes with a SIP daemon that is built upon pjsip and a
GNOME client. Those are two separarate binaries communicating to each other
through D-BUS. There is also, somewhere in the git repository, a rather
advanced KDE client. You could probably start from there and port it to QT
without too much problem. Please visit http://sflphone.org for downloads
information.

Subject: [SFLphone] [Technical] SFLphone on Beagle Board

John Nicholas sent a message using the contact form at
http://sflphone.org/contact.

Hi,

I am new to graphic development in Linux.

We need to port SFLphone to TI's Beagle Board using Qt as the graphical
toolkit (Linux Envt.).

Queries:
  - We have been mandated to use Qt as the graphical toolkit. Would
Qt-embedded be the most suitable Window manager for this purpose?

  - We understand SFLphone currently has GUI clients available for both KDE &
GNOME, Would it be easy to translate a KDE client to a Qt-embedded client?

  - We understand that an old release of SFLphone v0.6.2 also has a Qt-client
but it is OSIP2 based. We need to use PJSIP as the SIP stack. Can we borrow
code from the Qt-client of SFLphone v0.6.2 & port it with PJSIP stack easily?

How do we go about this, please advise.
