I have experience with setting up X-Lite on Win7 and Ekiga on Ubuntu.
This is my first try of sflphone on Ubuntu 12.04 .
I have a SIP service provider.

I downloaded and installed sflphone-client-gnome-1.2.0 OK.
I got through the wizard OK, setting up my existing SIP account,
registered OK.
Edit > Preferences > Audio > set my generic USB-phone i/o devices OK.
Edit > Account Settings > Advanced > Using STUN = off .
I have opened port 5060 (TCP/UDP) on my router's firewall, and there is
no firewall on this PC.

Then I hit New Call and punch in the number of my landline phone. I can
hear the tone dialling sounds. I press Pick Up. Instantly the dialpad
icon changes to a big red X, and an open padlock with a red X on the right.

I take it my call has failed, but why ? Nothing obvious under /var/log/ .
What next ?

Dave
