Are you using the Gnome Client or the KDE client? How did you install SFLphone?
In the gnome client you can toggle the dialpad with ctrl-d. Are you able to 
resize the window?
The screenshots on the website are fairly up to date, so provided your install 
is OK,
you should be seeing the toolbar and icons.
