Hello John Louis, SFLphone 1.4.1 have support for the G729 codec. However, due to licencing issues, we can't distribute our software with the codec enabled by default. Please note that G729 require a licence. I am sure you can sort that out yourself. The G729 codec can be found here:
http://www.linphone.org/technical-corner/bcg729/overview Ubuntu package is available here: https://launchpad.net/~linphone/+archive/ubuntu/release/+files/libbcg729-0-dbg_0.0.0%7Egit20120218%2B1-1%7Eoneiric%7Eppa1_amd64.deb https://launchpad.net/~linphone/+archive/ubuntu/release/+files/libbcg729-0-dbg_0.0.0%7Egit20120218%2B1-1%7Eoneiric%7Eppa1_i386.deb Make sure to select the right one (32bit = i386, 64bit = amd64). Please also note that I havn't tested those packages on Ubuntu 14.04. You may have to compile your own.
