I got this of the sun forum, thought I should paste it here too.
Mr. Rob the sun forum for SGD explained this:
". detach the server from an array (if needed)
 . tarantella stop
. edit the <instdir>/var/serverconfig/local/bootstrap.properties and change
the dns.peer name with the new name
 . switch to <instdir>/var/serverconfig/global
 . rename the <oldname>.properties file to <newname>.properties
. edit the <newname>.properties files according to your needs
 . tarantella start

Well, although unsupported, it worked."

It works I tested it too.

Now my next question is from which network interface does the SGD server
interact with the App servers. the peer DNS one or the external DNS?
