Got it!

When I was snooping the network traffic, after a bunch of kerberos and LDAP exchanges, I noticed a DNS failure on a 'query=ANY sgd-hostname' (no attached domain name.)

I went back to a pre-SGD install snapshot. Did a sys-unconfig and used the FQDN as the hostname. I re-installed SGD, set everything up, and it worked the first time. All that for something so simple. ahhh!

I've run into this problem before with JES. I never liked using the FQDN as the hostname, never made sense to me, and made for such a long command prompt. Guess I'll have to change my stubborn ways.

Thanks for the help all.
