Brian,

On that "login button", do you mean the "login" link on the index.html page (i.e. the redirection to //servername/sgd) or do you mean the "login" on the login form page, where username and password are entered? Are you using a Microsoft VM? Don't. Also, I've seen IE crash in the way you describe with "broken" JVM installations, that is, supported versions, just not quite right, due to entropy/software decay - sometimes, it's worth a re-installation. Possibly a misconfigured proxy setting on the client - does the tcc connect to the server ok, and properly detect that it's using a proxy (if indeed there is one.)

Other possibilities include client firewall software, blocking certain ports (recall that even in "non-secure" mode, we now make an initial connection on port 5307 to confirm server identity before falling back to 3144, a relatively recent behavioral change.) Just to be sure, do you have similar issues with hitting, say, sgddemo.sun.com? It's helpful to understand the sequence of events in a failure - there are multiple discrete steps in getting a client to that initial login screen.
Regards,
Rick

Was hoping to use our TS for some testing, since I've been encountering
a lot of problems from Windows clients lately (but NOT Mac and
Solaris!). The Windows machines keep losing connections and/or timing
out during logins. ONLY affects Windows machines!

        Any ideas?
