Brian, glad to help. About the accept / reject box, I think that dialog
is being thrown by the tcc helper, that is, a Java applet. I seem to
recall some problems with some JVM 1.4.2 builds with windows freezing
due to some timing bugs internal to the JVM (they also sometimes
instantiated behind the parent window, not a notably helpful thing.)
Users reported CTL-ALT-DEL and then resuming sometimes freed things up.
Again, these are like 1.4.2b03-5 era problems, so probably not what's
happening to you, but thought I'd mention it.

the first one is due to the fact that you've re-installed, and the
server certificate thumbprint has changed. The hostname / SSL
certificate thumbprint are stored on your client (in the 'hostsvisited'
file) and when you connect to that server, your client compares the
thumbprint coming from the server and the thumbprint stored away. If
they don't match, SGD concludes that you're the victim of a spoofing
attack. You *should* be able to accept or reject, however, not sure
what that's about.
I figured something was getting stored somewhere and was trying to
clear the browser, etc... :-) Didn't know that Tarantella itself
stored anything on the local host! Solved the problem, thanks!
As to the rest of the problems, I'm not sure what's going on, but it may
be related to the above; while it's worked fine for me before, you might
want to remove / rename the hostsvisited file and see if that's creating
/ contributing to the problem.
Apparently the accept/reject box just plain doesn't work right. Would
have been a whole lot easier if it did, but thanks to your tip about
"hostsvisited", it doesn't matter. :-)
