Kevin,
The connection between the client and the SGD server can be devided
into two streams:
1. The webtop stream, http(s), this one can be loadbalanced as stated before
2. The emulator stream, AIP (Adaptive Internet Protocol), this stream
can not be loadbalanced via an external loadbalancer since SGD will
do de loadbalancing.
If the SGD server in the array decide to start an emulator session on
a different SGD server (then where the webtop is running) and the
emulator stream goes through the same loadbalancing host (same
Virtual IP on the loadbalancer) the loadbalancer will try to start
the emulator session on the wrong SGD server. This will fail.
For example a good configuration:
2 SGD servers behind a loadbalancer.
SGD server 1 external name: sgd-server1.domain.com
SGD server 2 external name: sgd-server2.domain.com
Webtop sessions are behind a loadbalancer, external name: sgd.domain.com
Loadbalancer directs the session to for instance sgd-server1.domain.com
Client connects to http://sgd.domain.com (or https://sgd.domain.com)
On the client an emullator session will be set up to the SGD server
based on the decision made by the SGD Array for instance sgd-server2.domain.com
Here the webtop session runs on one server and the emulator on the
other. This is possible when the Arrays is not set to "Server Hosting
the User Session"- loadbalancing (This is the default) or when
Geographical Loadbalancing is used.
Hopefully this is clear. If not, I will make a new post on my blog
with pictures to make it more clear (when I find the time :) )

Best Regards,
Kevin.
