Generally speaking, "patches" or incremental builds within a specific release number are obtained from Support in response to a specific issue. Patches aren't usually released for general use, as patched versions may not be subjected to a full QA process like a regularly scheduled release is. The major release history can be found here: http://wikis.sun.com/display/SecureGlobalDesktop/Release+Information

The next major release after your version 4.40.917 is 4.41.907, (release notes here: http://docs.sun.com/source/820-4905/index.html) then 4.50.907 (release notes here: http://docs.sun.com/source/820-6687/index.html.)

If there's a specific issue you're concerned about, you should probably contact support.
Hope this is useful.

Rick
