I've been given an old SGI fuel by a research group at a nearby university.
I am interested in putting OpenBSD on it. I know the odyssey framebuffer it
came with doesn't support running an x-server, could I stick an ATI PCI
video card in it? Would that be supported by the kernel or would it not
work because of a firmware issue? I got this machine for free. I suspect
the ram is bad but I'm picking up more ram for it tomorrow. I am interested
in getting this machine up and running. I was given two completely wiped 18
gig seagate cheetah drives with this machine. I have no IRIX media, so I am
interested in trying OpenBSD on it. I have some experience with OpenBSD on
MacPPC and AMD64 architectures, but this will be my first foray in trying it
on SGI hardware.
