I was just give a SGI Fuel workstation which I planning on running
OpenBSD on, but trying to boot the light turns a solid red and the
workstation shutdown.

This sounds like a faulty environmental control. Many older Fuels do
this and need to have environment monitoring disabled from L1.

how to connect to the Fuel internal L1, check the environmental status,
and disable monitoring if needed:

I can't seem to find a manual for the fuel online,
does anyone have a electronic version of the manual or can they tell me
what the solid red light means.
