" This is remarkably similar to Ted Koppel's description of Vanna White of TV's Wheel of Fortune: "Vanna leaves an intellectual vacuum, which can be filled by whatever the predisposition of the viewer happens to be." Obama has left the same kind of vacuum. His magic, or con, was that voters could imagine whatever they wanted and he would do nothing to spoil their reverie. He was a handsome actor playing the part of the first black president-to-be and, as in films, he was careful not to muck up the role with real facts or issues that might harm the fantasy. During the campaign we distributed more than 3,000 DVDs along with thousands of print pieces including Liberty Voice newspapers, Republic Magazines, info-cards and pamphlets. We got great endorsements from important folks including 9/11 truth leaders and even the Big Kahuna of independent politics, Jesse Ventura. We won the Libertarian primary in a 60%-40% landslide. We got more mainstream media coverage, judging by google hits, than any other non-major-party candidate except the presidential ones. And while we only got 2% of the vote, that was better than just about all other third party candidates (it was a bad night for third parties), making my campaign possibly the most successful Libertarian campaign in the nation, as discussed in the press release below. Those of us who understand that there is only one, extremely corrupt political party in this country, the Republicrats, did not do as well as we had hoped in this election. That's because Obama succeeded winning over those who are disaffected with the "war on terror" and the Bush Administration's wars on truth, fiscal sanity, and sanity in general, but who aren't really paying attention to the details. On the positive side, Obama's victory is a repudiation of the "war on terror." A victory by a guy with brown skin, a name that sounds like Osama right next to a middle name of Hussein, and tens of millions of people spreading the rumor he's Muslim...a guy who is seen as opposing the Iraq war from the beginning, and who wants to close Guantanamo and get out of Iraq...all of this is wonderful, at least at the level of symbolism. On the less-positive side, the forces of empire are still in control, and they'll undoubtedly try to use Obama to legitimize their ongoing wars of conquest and enslavement, and consolidate their rollback of the Constitution and their evisceration of the economy and the middle class. Unfortunately, there are few if any signs that Obama and his advisors intend to oppose them. Obama has been calling for increasing the military budget, increasing foreign troop levels, stepping up the war on Pakistan, continuing to bail out the banking elite that's the power behind the throne, and otherwise serving the forces of evil. If the truth of 9/11 is fully exposed in reasonably short order, we have a shot at Constitutional governance, fiscal sanity, and peace. But will it really be possible to expose 9/11 after Bush is gone? YES! Psychologically, it is much harder to blame a sitting president for such an emotionally overwhelming crime, than to blame an ex-president and ex-administration. The Democratic side of the powers-that-be can "go there" now more easily than before. They can blame those nasty neocon Republicans who (we hope) will no longer be sitting with their fingers on the nuclear button and the martial law trigger. Some Democrats and their power elite backers may even hope to consolidate their power (and the utter destruction of the Republican Party) by doing so. Avenues for exposing 9/11 in the not-so-distant future include: * Dennis Kucinich's call for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission for 9/11 and the 9/11 wars. * A Congressional anthrax investigation. The government has admitted that the anthrax attacks were a false-flag inside job perpetrated from the military/intelligence sector, designed to blame Muslims and whip up anti-Muslim hysteria. But the bioweapons scientist they're blaming, Dr. Bruce Ivins, is clearly innocent. Since key senators were targeted by the anthrax attacks, it should not be asking too much of Congress to demand that they open a no-holds-barred investigation dedicated to exposing the full truth about the anthrax attacks.
