Subject: CIA vs. CIA

Re "Seeking Integrity at the CIA" by Ray McGovern
(at http://www.antiwar.com/mcgovern/?articleid=13820 ):

My stomach churns when I see anyone using words like "integrity" in
reference to the CIA. This organization is at the heart of US secret
govt, is built and feeds on lies, and everybody knows it.

Ditto when I see people like McGovern making headlines as "critics"
(see
http://www.opednews.com/articles/genera_alan_mil_070922_seven_cia_veterans_c.htm
 )

. For one thing, as everybody also knows, once CIA, always CIA. They
cannot say or write anything that the CIA does not approve; otherwise
they go to jail (or worse). For another, if it took 20-30 years of
working for the most nefarious and unscrupulous organization on the
face of the earth before they began to see the light, why should we
give any special prominence to their new-found "intelligence"?

Same is true of people like Major John Newman, who emerged from US
Army Military Intelligence and NSA as a full-blown JFK assassination
"critic."

When the national security establishment spits out these "critics," it
is PERVERSE to assume that they have any other priority than
preserving the "integrity" of the national security establishment
itself. This essay by McGovern demonstrates how dedicated a true
believer he remains. Beware.
