Hi Glenn,
This info has been circulating, but I'm not sure that it means much. Most of
the bills are vague, and as a whole lack focus. You know, of course, that I am
for protecting all amendment rights, and welcome even strange bedfellows!

Regarding the Wa. State bill --think there are some really good conservatives
out there -- Bruce Fein, Jonathan Turley, etc. Notice though, that they are not
coming out for other amendment rights that would ensure free speech, habeas,
etc. I think ANY discussion about rights is a good starting point but I'm
suspicious about the far right christian fascists.

Here's how David Swanson responded:
The Washington and Arizona one is vague enough to be anything
the NH one lists various right-wing fantasies
Montana is just about guns
Michigan seems worried about government pay and photo IDs at border
Missouri is about abortion
Oklahoma is from the right - not sure what about
Hawaii's appears to come from native Hawaiians wanting out of the empire

Here's a bill that's upsetting
people:http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.645:

Here's Phil Burk's comment:
Bizarre! Does this mean that they will immediately call their National Guard
troops home from Iraq? ;-)

In the Washington bill:

"WHEREAS, A number of proposals from previous administrations and
34 some now being considered by the present administration and from
35 Congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States;"

That is so incredibly vague. What proposals?

Here's what my bro' said:
What a ridiculous idea. Since when does it require a specific state law to
resist UNCONSTITUTIONAL behavior. I would have thought that it would be the
normal state of affairs for states to resist anything unconstitutional.
