Haviland Smith talked about the prospects for peace in the Middle East and Iraq. Haviland Smith is a retired Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) station chief. Over his 24-year career at the CIA, he served in Prague, Berlin, Beirut, and Tehran. He also served as chief of the counter terrorism staff and as executive assistant to the deputy director of central intelligence.
