Julia Angwin talked about her book Stealing MySpace: The Battle to Control
the Most Popular Website in America (Random House; March 17, 2009). In her
book she recounts the atypical story of the founding of the social
networking site MySpace by Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson. The story
culminated with the battle between Rupert Murdoch and Viacom CEO Sumner
Redstone to own it, Mr. Murdoch's News Corporation acquiring it in 2005 for
over 600 million dollars, and the battle of the founders to regain control.
Ms. Angwin read a brief passage from the book, and then invited her
colleague Rob Guth to interview her. She also responded to questions from
members of the audience.

Julia Angwin is a technology editor and columnist at the Wall Street Journal
and was part of the team that was awarded the 2003 Pulitzer Prize in
Explanatory Reporting for coverage of corporate corruption.
