Edward Humes talked about his book Eco Barons: The Dreamers, Schemers, and 
Millionaires Who Are Saving Our Planet (Ecco (March 3, 2009). In his book 
the Pulitzer Prize-winning author profiles struggling individuals and groups 
as well as the multi-millionaires and high-profile people who are trying to 
take the planet green. The guest interviewer was Matthew Kahn.

Edward Hughes is the author of eight nonfiction books, including Mississippi 
Mud; School of Dreams; and Over Here. He is writer at large for Los Angeles 
Magazine. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1989 for his reporting on the 
military in Southern California.

Matthew Kahn is a professor at the UCLA Institute of the Environment, the 
Department of Economics, and the Department of Public Policy. He is a 
research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is the 
author of Green Cities: Urban Growth and the Environment (Brookings 
Institution Press 2006) and the co-author of Heroes and Cowards: The Social 
Face of War (Princeton University Press 2009).
