One year to the day after Lehman Brothers collapsed, President Obama delivered remarks at Federal Hall in New York City on the 2008-2009 financial crisis. In his remarks he called on Congress to pass stronger financial regulations. He offered a an admonition to financial industry leaders that "there are some in the financial industry who are misreading this moment" and asked the industry to accept needed oversight, and criticized those in the past who "were motivated only by the appetite for quick kills and bloated bonuses."
