The new American strategy in Afghanistan involves nothing less than rehabilitating the "evil" Taliban. When US/NATO chooses Taliban as a business partner, the war on Islamic Terror is quietly put aside. Washington and the Pentagon are desperate to establish an pipeline corridor from the Caspian Basin to South Asia sea port at Gwadar Pakistan. Chevron and Cheney's Hallibuton are terminally constipated over the delay. The Chinese invested $2 billion to upgrade Gwadar and construct roads two years ago. So far the port has received less that 10 shipments of fertilizer (BS), waiting for the Pentagon to unplug a secure pipeline south through Afghanistan/Pakistan/Gwadar.
