I appreciate it when my friends share their honest opinions and valuable information. Here's one: This is a bad idea, Linda. I am attaching a short blurb that is supposed to be on the AMI blog that for some reason is not, yet. More detailed explanation at http://new.monetary.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=77 . State banks are no solution to the credit crisis, although, to some degree they may assist in getting some credit flowing. Getting credit flowing is not the solution; it is the problem. Credit is debt; we are drowning in it. Homes in default, credit cards maxed out, unemployment is a huge limit on more credit, federal debt at over $12 trillions, and total credit market debt including money stolen from SS "trust fund" is over $57 trillions. For banks to issue credit, someone must go into debt. State banks doing the same thing as commercial banks only compounds the problem. I am acquainted with Ellen Brown, she gave me acknowledgement in Web of Debt. However much I like her, she is wrong on this. I have been working on this problem for 29 years. I have been a speaker at the last four American Monetary Institute conferences. I have, also, contributed to the American Monetary and Financial Security Act which we expect to be introduced by Dennis Kucinich. A draft with supporting explanation is at http://www.monetary.org/amacolorpamphlet.pdf . The Act is a permanent solution. Bob For the government to permit banks to issue money, borrow that money, and pay interest on it is idiotic!....Bill Hixson ======= Solution to the Credit Crisis?
