1. Don't remove your floppy without re-booting the STN box. Unix (linux)
doesn't like you to remove a device without "unmounting" it, and there is
no way to do that in STN without going in thru the console and specifically
'umounting' your floppy device.
2. You may have a floppy going bad.

Can anybody tell me what is going on? Every few days I have to reboot my
STN
box because I start getting weird errors like the following:
floppy0: disk absent or changed during operation
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00, sector 21 (then sector 2630)
attempt to access beyond end of device
02:00: rw=0, want=11, limit=4 (several of these, then want=9, then
want=1316)
dev = 02:00, ino = 352
Kernel panic: msdos_write_inode: unable to read i-node block
Once I start getting this, before long the firewall is no longer handing
out
DHCP messages and eventually everybody drops off the net till I reboot.
What
is going on?
