Download the DOS driver set from 3Com and use the config program in there to
see where the NIC really is. And make sure it's not somewhere that conflict
with something else(try changing the io address and irq).

I've just discovered STN, and I try to use it with my old 486, 24 MB RAM +
3c509 ethernet card. I use the 2.1.3 version sotfware.
I built the bootdisk whit the wizard and I selected for base address "Auto"
first and "0x300" because when I reboot, each time, it says to me that it
can't find the "eth0" device and then I have error like :
starting S50enet
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
SIOCADDRT: No such device
like other people on this maillist. Could you help me ?
