I use ICQ 2000a with these settings on ICQ and never had a problem:
General Connections
Connection Type - permanent (Lan/CableModem)
Firewall IP Settings - ICQ will determine
Server Connections
Proxy Settings - Not Using Firewall
No Check mark on Keep Connection Alive
Firewall Connections
Program defaults
User Connections
Use Server proxy settings
I did NOT modify the startup of STN, just plain old defaults

I have been using STN now for some weeks, and i like it very much but i
have a problem wich i would like to have solved.
The problem is that mi ICQ works ok after making the changes regarding
the ports used by the icq client, and manual startup commands.
The problem is that after some time (not always same time) my icq
connection gets disconnected and cannot connect again, when i switch the
active user connection is restored instantly, when i switch to the
original user it still cannot get connected.
I use icq 99b.
Has anyone got a solution for this problem ?
