Subject: [ShareTheNet] floppyfw and IPSEC - anyone?

I downloaded floppyfw today (current version using the 2.2.17 kernel)
and got it running pretty easily (I'm savvy, but have no real Linux
kernel hacking experience). Seems to work fine for all the normal
router/firewall stuff we know and love (though I do miss STN's DNS
server...)

Now, though, I'm trying to get it to support an IPSEC client, without
much luck. I've tried to open port 500 and protocol 50 via ipchains, and
I think I got the commands right, but no joy. The various net resources
about ipchains and VPNs are highly confusing (and confused) about
whether 2.2.17 requires a patch or not to support IPSEC, and whether
such a patch would even be applicable to my setup. (Not that I have a
full Linux system here to compile the kernel anyways...)

Has anyone here gotten floppyfw to work with IPSEC yet, or even heard of
it being able to do so "out of the box"? Or have a pointer to some hints
or how-tos?

Many TIA,
David
