-This has nothing to do with re-writing an old STN disk-

(However, you -ARE- right - if you don't wipe the disk first, all betts 
are off!)

However, in this case I -ALWAYS- wipe the disk first.  What happens, is 
that the actual "save" file (you DO save your config's, don't you?) 
contains all old information that was ever entered into any dialog.  You 
have to re-visit any dialogs -IN THE STN SETUP PROGRAM ON YOUR WINTEL 
BOX- and remove any stale information there.

_This_ is the issue.....
