Exchange is a MAPI mail server - and wants to be the "end-point" of an
SMTP service chain. Your ISP has what is called a POP (or more likely
POP-3) mail server (also an SMTP end-point)
Exchange is used if you have your own domain (that is reachable from the
outside world) and you wish to get inbound SMTP traffic.
BTW, Why in God's Holy Name would you want to do this anyway? So you
can run Outlook and get every e-mail virus in existance???
Actually, I've considered it myself - but it seems like a heavy
maintainance item for the small-change use I would give it.
